Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated: July 7, 2026
Data Scraper is a general-purpose browser extension that helps you collect, structure, and export data from web pages. This Acceptable Use Policy explains the boundaries of that use. It supplements, and should be read alongside, our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
1. Publicly accessible pages only
Data Scraper is intended for use on publicly accessible pages that you have the right to view. It is not designed to bypass logins, paywalls, rate limits, CAPTCHA, or other access controls or technical protection measures, and you must not use it to do so or to reach content you are not authorized to access.
2. Respect robots.txt and site terms
You are responsible for using the Service in a way that respects each website's
robots.txt directives, terms of service, and any other stated access
rules, and for not overloading or disrupting any website or network.
3. Your responsibility for access rights
You choose the websites you use the Service on and the data you collect. You are solely responsible for ensuring that you have the right to access and process any content, and that your use is lawful in your jurisdiction and in the jurisdiction of the website or data subject.
4. Personal data and data-protection law
If you process personal data using the Service, you must have a valid legal basis and comply with all applicable data-protection and privacy laws, including the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the UK GDPR, and, where relevant, anti-spam laws such as CAN-SPAM. You must not use collected data for spam, harassment, fraud, surveillance, or any other unlawful purpose.
5. Prohibited uses
You agree not to, and not to allow anyone else to:
- access areas of a website that require authorization you do not have, or bypass logins, paywalls, rate limits, CAPTCHA, or other technical protection measures;
- collect personal data without a valid legal basis or in breach of data-protection law;
- use the Service in violation of a website's terms, robots restrictions, or applicable law;
- send unsolicited communications (spam) or use collected data for harassment, fraud, or surveillance;
- infringe intellectual property, database, privacy, or other rights, or overload or disrupt any website or network.
6. Enforcement
Use of the Service in breach of this policy is a breach of our Terms of Service. We may suspend or terminate access to the Service for conduct that we reasonably believe violates this policy or applicable law.
